Ma Petite Crevette

Having been attracted to textiles all my life, I studied fashion and garment-making where I learned to make an entire garment from the initial idea right through to quality control, including drawing the design, creating the pattern, cutting out, producing and checking.

I passed my high school exams and technical college certificate with flying colours, before completing 2 years in applied arts, a foundation year in applied arts and a year-long advanced vocational diploma in design and fashion. But then along came the pandemic, during which time I developed the Ma Petite Crevette project.

I threw myself into this crazy new venture that combined my main passions: my pony, photography, textiles and sewing, and also creativity. I felt myself come alive when working on this project. I felt like I had ground to a halt during my last 2 years at college; I wasn't designing any more, I had run out of inspiration, nothing interested me any more. And yet all this came flooding back with the launch of Ma Petite Crevette.

When it comes to my work, I take my inspiration from everyday life, striving to create unusual, trendy and hardwearing products that are useful as well as practical; custom-made wherever possible.

Each and every piece that leaves my workshop is unique; I never reproduce any of my pieces. Everything is limited, and I regularly change my stock so that I can produce varied products to satisfy as many customers as possible. I believe that working closely with them is very important – in fact, this is what makes me more accessible.
